COMPOSITION COMPETITION
2020 LEIPZIG ENSEMBLE FESTIVAL FOR CONTEMPORARY MUSIC – INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION COMPETITION
For the 2020 Leipzig Ensemble Festival for Contemporary Music, the Forum Zeitgenössischer Musik Leipzig [FZML] together with the ensemble Tempus Konnex is holding an international composition competition.

ELIGIBILITY
Composers of any nationality and age can participate.
Submission Deadline:
Postmarked or emailed by July 20th, 2020
Duration:
The piece must be between 6 and 12 minutes long.
Instrumentation:
- Flute (also piccolo, alto and bass flute)
- Oboe
- Clarinet (also bass clarinet, written in the German system)
- Bassoon
- Percussion
- Guitar (also electric guitar)
- Piano
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello
- (Conductor – obligatory)
Any combination of 5-10 instruments from the list above can be used. Submissions with less than 5 or more than 10 instruments will unfortunately not be considered.
Prizes:
The prizes will be awarded as follows:
1st Prize: €1,800
2nd Prize: €1,200
3rd Prize: €800
Performance:
All winning pieces will have their world premiere as part of the International Ensemble Festival for Contemporary Music between 19-22 November 2020 in Leipzig.
Public disclosure:
The award-winning works will be announced on the official website for the 2020 Leipzig Ensemble Festival for Contemporary Music on 21 September 2020.
